Position: Software Engineer II Intern (Masters)
Employer: Cisco

omg, I totally bombed on my first interview....
天啊 人生的第一場interview大失敗orz
scheduled time slot 45分鐘，
結果我30分鐘就結束了
我覺得我好像一直秒殺他的問題
結果後來他問我有沒有什麼問題
我想說 時間也太早了吧 就一直問他很多問題
Great, my first interview,
and the interviewer talked almost as much as I did...
(問的問題不是technical的問題，
 大都是問我以前做project的經驗、與別人合作的方式、
 如何解決interpersonal issues、leadership
 要了解這個人的soft skills如何
 ==>所以秒殺完全不是好事= =|| 如果是technical問題被秒殺就好了orz)
   
其實一開始還滿順利的
他問我為什麼想要來Cisco工作
我還掰出來了看起來他還頗滿意的回答
可是最後兩個問題時，
不知道為什麼 I kept stumbling over my words...
leadership的問題回答超糟
明明就有很多可以說的，可是沒有事情組織好，
當場根本就是東一句西一句……
後來他看我很冏的樣子就說：
"okay, good, so you do have some experiences as being a leader"
                                                                               
我很frustrated地跟我朋友說我的狀況時
他還安慰我說：sounds more like his problem than yours
可是事前另一個有拿到cisco full time offer的朋友就跟我說
一定要Be confident, be sharp.
我覺得interviewer應該覺得這個人到底在幹嘛T_T
                                                                               
而且30分鐘就結束了耶 至今還是不敢相信...
而且朋友明明一直千叮嚀萬囑咐:"Be specfic"
可是回想起來，我好像沒怎麼真的舉起我做過的project的實例
只有vaguely say: once in a project...
真正有一直被提及的就只有畢業專題
他應該想說，請問妳人生都沒做別的事嗎= =
                                                                               
吼~~~還有很多很重點的事都沒有提到 然後就結束了orz
                                                                               
                                                                               
不過 今天發現他們其實總共只interview 8個人
所以能成為其中之一也是滿高興的
就當做是練習吧orz
下次qualcomm來的時候我要表現好一點!!!

幸好我朋友有先幫我做心理建設:
I recommend going in with the attitude of
"just seeing what they're about and what kind of jobs they have".
I know you probably actually do want to work for Cisco...
but don't think of it as like the be all, end all interview.
...
I think interviewing is actually kind of fun
when you don't care what the outcome is.
Incredibly stupid, but fun.
                                                                               
                                                                               
Well, I guess I sort of did have fun this morning,
I totally freaked out, and acted completely stupid,
but yeah, in a sense, it wasn't that bad....
